FTSE China A50 index rises 0.01% on opening to 13,387.84.

Of the 50 stocks in the index, Baoshan Iron & Steel (600019) and China Everbright Bank (601818) saw the largest increase of 4.36% and 2.25%, respectively.

China Minsheng Banking(600016) and New China Life Insurance (601336) fell the most, dropping 2.03% and 1.81%, respectively.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 3,612.25, rising 0.13%, Shenzhen Component Index 15,049.77, up 0.31%. Over at HK, Hang Seng Index declined 0.98%, to open at 29,002.67.

Last night, the Dow Jones Index ended 0.17% lower, while the NASDAQ climbed by 0.18%.
