Mar 30, 2021 (China Knowledge) - China’s daily COVID-19 vaccine output in China has tripled from a daily production rate of 1.5 mln doses to about 5 mln doses from February.
Xiao Yaqing, China's Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said China aims to vaccinate 40% of its 1.4 bln citizens by the middle of 2021 and that the country has already supplied more than 100 mln doses domestically.
Feng Zijian, deputy director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said a daily average of 2.6 mln doses were given between March 21 and 23, up from about 1.7 mln between March 15 and 20. Feng also said that a substantial increase in vaccinations could be expected from April.
