Mar 25, 2021 (China Knowledge) - The China’s Great Wall Motors showed off its electric lineups at the Bangkok International Motor Show, highlighting the innovation made by Chinese carmakers in the Thai market.
The motor show held in Bangkok is among one of the largest auto shows in the South East Asia, and will be running until 4 Apr.
Great Wall has announced that it will begin selling Chinese-made Ora compact models here in Q2 of 2021. Currently, Ora models are retailing for less than USD 10,000 in China. While the price of Ora has yet to be set in Thailand, Great Wall assures that customers will be satisfied with the set price.
Great Wall also has plans to manufacture EVs in Thailand, starting from hybrids. The company is set to invest USD 729 mln to remodel a plant acquired from General Motors in 2020 and will begin to take orders next quarter.
Thai government aims to have at least 30% electric vehicles of all new vehicles output by 2020.
