Oct 22, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Fortune's Future has released a list of top 50 companies with the best prospects of long-term growth 50 ranks the global companies with the best prospects for long-term growth. Some of those companies, in the list, despite their small organizational structure are producing phenomenal growth, others are expanding into multiple industries with impressive speed and the others are inventing new businesses and models as they advance. Nonetheless, each of these companies won its spot by demonstrating both steady execution and forward-looking strategic nimbleness.
21 Chinese companies got included in the list. Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent and JD (BATJ) were included, but Toutiao, Meituan, Didi, Xiaomi and other Internet second echelon players failed to secure a spot. Interestingly, Vipshop Holdings with the market value of only USD 3.3 billion ranked fifth, higher than Alibaba and Tencent which stood at 14th and 16th respectively.
Baidu's, which ranked 15th on the list; advertising revenue in the second quarter increased by 25% YoY, reaching USD 3.18 billion. The Fortune affirmed Baidu's efforts to boost advertising sales by non-search products such as video and news push services, and specifically referred to Baidu's layout in the areas of automated driving and artificial intelligence (AI).
In double eleven in 2017, Alibaba's sales reached USD 25 billion, up 39% YoY. The Fortune also mentioned Alibaba's expansion in areas other than e-commerce such as cloud computing and food express. The company's revenue in 2018 fiscal year increased by 58% YoY.
Wechat's billion monthly active users proved that Tencent is indispensable in areas such, as social networking and corporate contacts with consumers. However, the core income of Tencent is still from the games, gaming revenue which is USD 35 billion contributed 2/3 in company’s total revenue. JD.com barely made it to the list by being the last among 50 companies.
