SDL and Alibaba Cloud determined to bridge the communication gap for Asian traders

Sep 13, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing branch of Alibaba Group Holding Limited <BABA:NYSE>, has announced its strategic partnership with SDL <SDL:LSE>, the global leader and innovator in language and content management solutions. A co-developed solution will arise from this partnership, designed to help brands enter and develop their digital business across China and the Asian market.

SDL’s expertise in digital content management and language translation has allowed it to help companies create, translate and deliver relevant and personalized content to support the customers. Global organizations will be able to tap on SDL’s web content management and machine translation solutions hosted on Alibaba Cloud, to deliver and offer consumers a personalized experience, regardless of languages barriers.

In a report by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) published last year, Asia is seen to be the fastest-growing region. Language and cultural differences are some of the challenge companies often face when engaging customers across China and Asia. Through Alibaba Cloud based solution the partnership aims to enhance the delivery of effective communications to customers across Asia.

Alibaba Cloud has 18 data centers globally, with over 1500 CDN nodes around the globe. The company is the largest public cloud vendor in China, ranking third globally. It currently powers over half of Chinese websites.
