Sep 12, 2018 (China Knowledge) - The 3rd Hong Kong Fintech Week will be celebrated from October 29 to November 02 in Hong Kong, this year. The annual Fintech Week is a unique opportunity for the financial technology industry to conduct in-depth exchanges.

The official launch reception for the upcoming 2018 Hong Kong Fintech Week was held today. Focusing on new fintech’s direct involvement in recent fintech developments in Hong Kong and highlights of the Fintech Week.

Mr. Charles d'Haussy Head of Fintech Invest Hong Kong; Mr. Nelson Chow Chief Fintech Officer, Hong Kong Monetary Authority; Ms. Clara Chiu Director, Licensing and Head Fintech unit, Intermediaries, Securities and Futures Commission; and Mr. Tony Chan Associate Director, Policy and Development Division, Insurance Authority were present in the news briefing.

Nelson Chow spoke about the invitation of foreign regulators to talk about how API will affect the banking industry.

Clara Chiu opined about how to maintain the fair and healthy development. She emphasized on providing clear regulatory environment to promote growth of the Fintech.

Tony expressed his determination that Insurance Authority was committed to promote insurance technology, insurtech.

Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GMB, GBS, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will preside over the launch reception.
