Nov 25, 2021 (China Knowledge) - Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,584.18, down 0.24%, Shenzhen Component Index finished at 14,827.95, down 0.40%, the Hang Seng Index closed at 24,740.16, up 0.22%. The trading volume for three exchanges recorded USD 185.4 bln, down 0.00% from the previous trading day.
Health Care was today's top performing sector, seeing the highest rise of 0.91%, follows by Non-Ferrous Metal and Agriculture, gaining 0.26% and 0.23%, respectively. Leisure Service sector saw the biggest drop of 2.82%, followed by media (-1.80%) and iron & steel (-1.59%).
Of the 4,635 stocks on Mainland China, there were 1,989 (43%) gainers, 2,481 (54%) losers, and 156 (3%) remained unchanged. There are 1 new IPOs launched today.
A total of 75 stocks hit the max limit up while 11 touched the fall limit. The CSRC set maximum 10% rise and 10% fall of a stock in a single day for all A-shares except those on the STAR Market and ChiNext board which are allowed a 20% rise or fall in a single day. These prevent stocks from being traded for the rest of the day once hitting the rise or fall limit to curb extreme volatilities in either direction.
