Jun 08, 2021 (China Knowledge) - Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,580.11, down 0.54%, Shenzhen Component Index 14,716.98, declining 0.98%, and the Hang Seng Index 28,781.38, falling 0.02%. The trading volume for the three exchanges recorded RMB 1.11 trln (USD 173.55 bln), up 1.39% from yesterday.
Of the 4,329 stocks on Mainland China, there are 1,949 (45%) gainers, 2,231 (52%) decliners, and 149 (3%) remained unchanged. There are 2 new IPOs launched today.
There were 96 stocks that hit the max limit up while 32 touched the fall limit. The CSRC set maximum 10% rise and 10% fall of a stock in a single day for all A-shares except those on the STAR Market and ChiNext board which are allowed a 20% rise or fall in a single day. These prevent stocks from being traded for the rest of the day once hitting the rise or fall limit to curb extreme volatilities in either direction.
