Mar 04, 2021 (China Knowledge) - Today the Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,503.49, down 2.05%, and Shenzhen Component Index finished at 14,416.06, down 3.46%, the Hang Seng Index closed at 29,236.79, down 2.15%. The trading volume for three exchanges recorded USD 173.1 bln, up 13.26% from the previous trading day.

The markets turned up 1,242 gainers, 2,808 losers, and 130 remained unchanged.

By sectors, the top three most active traded iron & steel, utility and mining, with an increase of 1.79%, 0.31% and 0.29%, respectively. The electrical equipment sector saw the biggest drop of 5.92%, followed by health care (-5.77%) and food & beverage (-4.92%).

As of 16:30 p.m. BJT, USD/RMB was trading at 6.4687, up 8 bps from the previous close.
