Aug 08, 2019 (China Knowledge) - Ping An Good Doctor (01833), the mainland's largest online health care platform, is set to unveil tie-ups with more than 20 firms including China Mobile and China Everbright Bank, to boost revenue and reduce losses.
According to Wang Tao, chairman and chief executive, the tie-ups will help the platform target middle class families whose needs are not met by the state-run medical system.
In June, the company launched “Private Doctor”, a family doctor service targeting more than 100 million middle-class families. The new service is an upgraded version of its existing “Health 360” product, which offers online consultation, facilitation of offline medical treatments and express medicine deliveries.
Ping An Good Doctor was spun off from insurance giant Ping An Insurance (Group) early last year, and claimed itself having 2.2 million monthly paying users out of 62.7 million active users as of June 30.
Ping An Good Doctor posted a net loss of RMB 272.5 mln in H1 2019, down from RMB 444.2 mln earlier. According to a Bloomberg poll of analysts, the company is expected to break-even by 2021.
