Jan 18, 2019 (China Knowledge) - Online English tutoring firm Dada has announced the completion of its series-D financing on 16th January. The funding round was led by global private equity firm Warburg Pincus, Tiger Global Mauritius Fund and TAL Education.
To date, Dada has completed six financing rounds, raising nearly USD 385 million.
Dada which was founded in 2013 provides 1-to-1 online English education for children aged between 4 to 16. The company employs technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data to provide education with high-level performance and efficiency.
The company’s online streaming platform connects students with English teachers to allow them to learn through interactive and immersive real-life scenarios.
Since the company’s founding, Dada has now expanded from mainland China to other non-native English-speaking countries and regions such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and France.
Dada carefully selects its team of English teachers and uses AI to match teachers with students with the algorithm even helping to select course content and class rearrangements.
Apart from online education, Dada also differentiates itself by partnering with renowned international educational publishers such as Pearson, McGraw Hill Education and Oxford University Press to come up with their own textbooks and reading materials for their students.
