Dec 06, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Pete Lau, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus, has announced, today, that his company will cooperate with Britain's largest mobile network operator EE to launch the first 5G smart phone in Europe next year. EE confirmed in September that it would launch 5G mobile services in the UK in 2019, a year ahead of its European neighbors.
Marc Allera, CEO of EE telecom consumer department, has said that EE and Oneplus share a common vision to provide users with the best mobile technology experience. Both companies will invest in the research and development of 5G technology and work together to become the leaders of the global 5G era.
At the end of October, Pete Lau announced that Oneplus' 6T would be sold in more than 5,600 T-Mobile stores, a local operator in the U.S. At the same time, it is also sold in stores of European operators such as O2, EE and Vodafone. This means that the smartphone maker has received more recognition in Europe and the U.S. mobile phone market.
