Dec 06, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Vice chairman of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) has voiced out the interest of the Kenya's business community in leveraging on the Chinese industrial technology to boost exports amidst stiff competition with foreign companies. Vice chairman was talking during the three-day China Home Life Kenya Exhibition and Business to Business Forum, held in Nairobi, yesterday.
The forum was held for the first time in Kenya and will end on Friday, 7th December. Over 600 Chinese suppliers of home products such as consumer electronic, furniture, lights, and textile garments from eight Chinese provinces will showcase their products at the fair.
Local manufacturers in Kenya are facing stiffer competition from foreign industrialists. The industry is now facing a stagnation in growth and development. These companies are interested in having joint ventures with Chinese firms, and hence leveraging on the advanced manufacturing technology owned by the Chinese firms. This will allow the country to simultaneously grows its exports overseas.
KNCCI has signed memorandum of understandings with four provincial chambers of commerce in China, as it seeks to boost bilateral commercial ties.
