Nov 27, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Alibaba has been re-elected to the JCP Supreme Executive Committee of the Java Global Management Organization for a two-year term beginning on December 4, 2018. The announcement was made by Alibaba on Friday. The reelection means that the opinions of Chinese developers will more value into the formulation of Java specifications, making "China Standards" a global norm.
JCP, or Java Community Process, is the highest decision-making body of Java. Its responsibilities include developing and updating Java technical specifications and planning the future evolution direction of Java.
As one of the most widely used development languages in the world, Java is used in mobile phone applications, PC software and Internet of Things (IoT). Many Chinese Internet companies also use Java as their main programming language.
Alibaba is one of the most profitable and rewarding technology companies in Java. In 2017, Alibaba issued the Alibaba Java Development Statute for the whole world, which gathers the wisdom and experience of many Chinese engineers and helps global developers to engage in Java development more efficiently and collaboratively. The protocol affects 2.5 million developers and has become an important global open source standard code specification.
