Nov 13, 2018 (China Knowledge) - China's tech giant Baidu has renamed its online payment wallet Baidu Wallet to 'Du Xiaoman Pay'. Baidu Wallet, hence forth Du Xiaoman Pay, is a third-party payment app and service platform. The decision to rename the platform was done on Thursday.

The name 'Du xiaoman Pay' stems from‘Du Xiaoman Financial. 'Du' is the extension of Baidu business gene and 'Xiaoman' refers to a traditional Chinese solar term 'grain buds', symbolizing the right point of life state. Previously Baidu Financial was renamed as Du Xioaman Financial.

Du Xiaoman Pay provides links between merchants and massive users for online platforms such as Baidu APP, Baidu Map and iQIYI, allowing users to enjoy one-stop payment experience.

The heads of payment business noted that the platform will deliver a better and safer service. The service will be as reliable as before, he said.

So far, Du Xiaoman Pay has collectively covered more than 130 million users.
