Aug 01, 2018 (China Knowledge) - The 2018 IC World Expo will be held at the Beijing E-Town from 22 to 24 October. The expo will host nearly 20 academic seminars and 11 exhibitions.
According to the press conference, the 2018 World IC Expo will be a grand event showcasing technology progress and achievements of the integrated circuit industry globally and also a platform for exchanging insights and expertise.
During the expo, more than 300 experts, scholars and business leaders from the world's top universities, research institutes and integrated circuit companies will focus on trends of the IC industry in relations to electronics, silicon-based optoelectronic optical devices, biomedicine, healthcare, driverless vehicles , intelligent network, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, robots, intelligent manufacturing, future communications, Internet of Things (IoT), smart wearable, smart homes and intelligent hardware. There are also seminars and forum discussions pertaining to capital raising and financing for the industry.
The expo has been held in Beijing E-Town for the industrial park’s vital role in China’s IC industry. At present, this triple-A rated industrial park has attracted world’s renowned IC companies such as SMIC, Infineon and their peers with a comprehensive IC industry’s supply chain including capabilities of design, manufacturing, equipment, materials, parts and packaging testing. Beijing E-Town has become the largest and highest level IC industry hub in China with state-of-the-art technology. Its output accounts for half of Beijing and one-tenth of China’s IC production. It is also the first domestic industrial park to build 12-inch IC wafer production line.
Besides these Beijing E-Town has over the years established a viable financing system that support the industry with 12 IC industry-specific investment funds that totaled more than RMB 160 billion.
In the first half of 2018, industrial enterprises in Beijing E-Town have delivered a total industrial output of RMB 187.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%.
