May 31, 2010 (China Knowledge) - Beijing Economic-technological Development Area, or BDA, on May 27 signed 29 projects with investment of RMB 18.36 billion in total at the 13th China Beijing International High-tech Expo, the No.1 high-tech expo in China for promoting the innovation and development of the science and technology industry.

The projects cover various sectors, including the electronic information industry, the productive service industry, the new energy industry and the cultural innovation industry.

BDA has inked agreements with ten enterprises in the upper stream and lower stream industrial chain for BOE Technology Group Co Ltd's<000725><200725> 8th generation thin-film transistor liquid crystal display production line. The production line, which involves total investment of RMB 28 billion, is the first 8th generation TFT-LCD production line in the country.

As for the creative cultural industry, China Central Television will gradually move its animation and game business into BDA's ACG related product development zone. The zone involved total investment of about RMB 3 billion.

So far, more than 3,000 overseas and Chinese companies have located in BDA, including Nokia Corp, Mercedes-Benz and Bayer Group, and total investment has exceeded US$20 billion. Last year, 127 enterprises in BDA saw their output value exceed RMB 100 million each. Twenty-eight of them saw output value exceed RMB 1 billion.
