Jul. 5, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Dongfeng Automobile Co Ltd<600006> announced yesterday that its auto sales fell 22.31% YoY to 21,700 units last month.

The company said in a statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange that it sold a total of 149,300 vehicles in the first half of this year, 10.82% less than in the same period of 2011.

Last month, the company's auto output dropped 21.9% YoY to 21,400 units, taking its output for the first six months to 151,100 units, reflecting a decline of 11.01% YoY.

The Shanghai-listed company saw its engine sales plunge 34.23% from the same period of last year to 86,600 units in the first six months.

Dongfeng Auto earlier reported a net profit of RMB 53.28 million for the first quarter of this year, 72% less than in the same period of last year. Operating revenue dropped 4% YoY to RMB 5.21 billion in Q1.
