
May. 2, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China's revenue for software industry increased 26.4% year on year to nearly RMB 466.5 billion in the first quarter of this year, the
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said.
The growth rate was 0.7 percentage points higher than that in the first two months and 15 percentage points higher than the revenue growth of the electronics and information industry in the same period.
The industry saw its gross profit grow 15.8% year on year to RMB 53.9 billion in the period, slowing from a 33.7% increase in the same period of last year.
Revenue from IT consulting services reached RMB 43.6 billion in the first three months, up 32.7% year on year, and that from the data processing and operating services grew 35.6% year on year to RMB 69.7 billion.
The software products’ sales rose 26.5% year on year to RMB 155.7 billion and that from information system integration services rose 21.5% to RMB 103.2 billion.
The embedded system software’s revenue saw higher growth of 28.4% year on year, hitting RMB 77.8 billion during the period.
The software industry has experienced slowing exports since the second half of this year, seeing the export value rise only 12.5% year on year to US$7.8 billion in the first quarter. Outsourcing service exports grew 21.6% to US$1.45 billion in the first three months.
