600018>, China's largest port operator, announced that its cargo throughput reached 42.34 million metric tons in July this year, 6.56% less than in the same month of last year, sources reported.
Last month, the company's container throughput was 2.84 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), reflecting a YoY decrease of 1.83%.
In 2011, the port operator's cargo throughput rose 13.1% YoY to 484 million metric tons, while it handled 31.74 million TEUs last year, 9.2% more than a year earlier.
In the first quarter of this year, the company realized RMB 5.98 billion in total revenue, up 16.7% YoY, while its net profit for the period fell 27.4% to RMB 922.6 million, China Knowledge
reported earlier.
