Beijing E-Town to further expand its land area

Dec. 17, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Beijing E-Town, a triple-A rated industrial park, will further expand its land area in the southeast area of Beijing in future, according to a report released by the Beijing municipal government on Dec.7.

In earlier 2010, the local municipal government decided to promote a co-development strategy to integrate Beijing E-Town and the Daxing District. The integration with Daxing District enhances Beijing E-Town's development vitality, compliments each other's advantages, optimizes the industrial park's land usage and forms an integrated development.
Beijing E-Town's pillar industries and emerging industries are developing rapidly in recent years, many large global companies have settled in the park. The development profoundly changed the capital's secondary industry's structure and appearance.

At present, the less than 50 sq km area has gathered over 5,000 enterprises from over 40 countries and regions. "The land expansion in Beijing E-Town has been very rapid in recent years, but it is still only about one-fifth compared to other major development areas in China", said an official from Beijing E-Town.

According to Beijing municipal government's report, Beijing E-Town will gradually expand its industrial space towards the west of Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and the east of Beijing-Taibei Expressway. With the expansion, Beijing E-Town will form a hi-tech industrial development belt in Southern Beijing to boost the cluster development of strategic emerging industries and advanced manufacturing industry in the capital.
