Dec. 11, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China, the world's largest steel maker, imported 65.78 million metric tons of iron ore and concentrate in November this year, reflecting a growth of 16.6% from October, according to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs
The iron ore imports last month represented an increase of 2.5% from a year earlier. The average import price rose 4.83% MoM to US$109.9 per metric ton in November.
In the first eleven months of this year, the country's iron ore imports rose 8.2% YoY to 672.91 million metric tons.
Meanwhile the import value for the eleven-month period fell 15.3% to US$87.61 billion, and the average import price dropped 21.7% YoY to US$130 per metric ton.
