China's natural rubber imports down 8.3% in Nov

Dec. 11, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China, the world's largest natural rubber importer, imported 0.22 million metric tons of the material in November 2012, 8.3% less than in the corresponding period of last year, according to the statistics released by the General Administration of Customs.

In the first eleven months of this year, China's natural rubber imports grew 3.7% YoY to 1.97 million metric tons, and the import value totaled US$6.22 billion, reflecting a decline of 27.9% YoY.

Meanwhile, the country imported 117,658 metric tons of synthetic rubber last month.

From January to November, China's synthetic rubber import volume amounted to 1.31 million metric tons, up 0.4% from a year earlier, with import value decreasing 3.4% YoY to US$4.71 billion.
