Shanghai Int'l Port's cargo throughput up 4.22% in Nov

Dec. 10, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Shanghai International Port Group Co<600018>, China's largest port operator, has announced its cargo throughput reached 42.21 million metric tons in November this year, reflecting a YoY increase of 4.22%.

The figure was more than 41.68 million metric tons it realized in October 2012.

Last month the company's container throughput was 2.82 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), 7.58% more than in the same month of last year.

The port operator earlier announced its cargo and container throughput for the first nine months of this year reach 377 million metric tons and 24.22 million TEUs, up 4.25% and 1.89% from a year earlier, respectively. Meanwhile its net profit for the nine-month period decreased 4% YoY to RMB 3.52 billion.
