Dec. 10, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China's retail sales were RMB 1.85 trillion in November this year, up 14.9% from a year earlier in nominal terms, said the National Bureau of Statistics
Total retail sales in urban areas rose 15% YoY to RMB 1.6 trillion last month, while retail sales in rural areas rose 14.6% YoY to RMB 244.6 billion.
Retail sales in the catering industry grew 14.2% YoY to RMB 211.5 billion in the month, while retail sales of consumer goods rose 15% YoY to RMB 1.64 trillion.
The retail sales of automobiles continued to top the country's retail sales list, reaching RMB 221.5 billion in November, up 8.3% YoY. Retail sales of oil and related products came in second, hitting RMB 144.6 billion, with a 15.5% growth.
In the first eleven months, the country's retails sales totalled RMB 18.68 trillion, 14.2% more than in the same period of last year.
