Dec. 5, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Japanese auto giant Toyota Motor Corp saw its China sales plunge 22.1% from a year earlier to 63,800 units in November this year, source reported.
The figure is more than 45,600 units it realized in October 2012.
FAW Toyota, Toyota Motor's largest car venture in China founded with FAW Group, the parent company of FAW Car Co Ltd<000800
>, saw its China sales reach 35,900 units last month, reflecting a YoY decrease of 33.1%.
However, Guangqi Toyota Automobile Co, a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd<601238><2238> and Toyota Motor Corp saw its auto sales grow 9% YoY to 21,300 units in November.
In the first eleven months of this year, the Japanese automaker along its two joint ventures in China sold a total of 749,600 autos in China, 3.3% less than it realized in the corresponding period of last year.
In 2011, Toyota sold 895,000 vehicles in China, and it aimed to realize 1 million units in 2012.
