saw its unemployment rate increase 0.01 percentage points in October this year to 4.33% from the 4.32% recorded in a month earlier, according to the latest statistics released by the island's Directorate-General of Budget.
Officer of the island's Directorate-General of Budget said the decrease in unemployment rate last month indicates that labor market and manufacturers operating situation has not recovered and more attention is needed in the next two months.
In October, Taiwan's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 4.3%, remained flat than in September this year.
The number of unemployed people increased by 2,000 to 493,000 in October, and that of employed people was 10.89 million last month, up 19,000 from a month earlier.
