China's refined copper imports down 22% in Oct

Nov. 22, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China, the world's largest cooper consumer, imported 230,695 metric tons of refined copper in October this year, 22% less than in the same month of last year, according to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs.

The refined copper imports last month reflected a decline of 21.89% from September.

In the first ten months of this year, the country's refined copper imports amounted to 2.91 million metric tons, up 39.72% YoY.

Meanwhile, China's imports of copper concentrate increased 38.57% YoY to 715,682 metric tons in October, bringing its imports of copper concentrate to a total of 6.06 million metric tons in the first ten months, reflecting a YoY growth of 18%.
