Nov. 22, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China, the world's largest natural rubber importer, imported 170,409 metric tons of the material in October 2012, 21% less than in the corresponding period of last year, according to the statistics released by the General Administration of Customs
The October imports were 19% less than in September 2012.
In the first ten months of this year, China's natural rubber imports grew 5.6% YoY to 1.75 metric tons, and the import value totalled US$5.61 billion, reflecting a decline of 26.4% YoY.
Last month, the country imported 121,589 metric tons of synthetic rubber. From January to October, China's synthetic rubber import volume totalled 1.2 million metric tons, up 0.5% from a year earlier, with import value decreasing 1.9% YoY to US$4.33 billion.
