China's gold output up 11.27% in Jan-Sep

Nov. 20, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its gold output increase by 11.27% YoY to 288.2 metric tons in the first nine months of this year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In the first nine months of this year, gold mines in the country produced 241.3 metric tons of gold, 11.13% more than in the same period of last year, while colored-by-product gold from nonferrous smelters increased by 12.03% YoY to 46.9 metric tons.

In the month of September, the country's gold output was 38.5 metric tons, and the industry's gross output value reached RMB 44.51 billion.
From January to September 2012, the gross output value of the gold industry grew 33.69% YoY to RMB 259.68 billion.
