>, the country's largest coal producer, has said it produced 23.9 million metric tons of commercial coal in October, reflecting a YoY increase of 2.1%.
Last month, the coal company sold 40.7 million tons of coal, 30.9% more than that in the same period of 2011. Of the total sales, 100,000 tons were exported, down 80% compared to October 2011.
Meanwhile, China Shenhua Energy said its electricity output increased 2.5% YoY to 16.23 terawatt hours (TWh) in October, and its electricity sales rose 2.2% YoY to 15.05 TWhs.
In the first ten months, the company's coal output rose 9.2% YoY to 254.8 million metric tons, while its coal sales for the ten-month period grew 16.7% YoY to 370.6 million metric tons.
From January to October, the Shanghai

company saw its electricity output amount to 171.86 TWhs, up 9.4% from a year earlier, and its electricity sales rose 9.1% YoY to 159.85 TWhs.
