saw its coal imports total 5.61 million tons in September this year, reflecting a YoY decline of 4.3%, according to a report today released by Taiwan's Bureau of Energy.
The figure for September was 8.3% more than it realized in August 2012.
The bureau also said that Taiwan's import of steam coal and coking coal in September decreased 12% and 13% from a year earlier to 3.52 million metric tons and 515,301 metric tons, respectively.
The average import price of steam coal decreased 16% YoY or 7.8% MoM to US$105.97 per ton, while coking coal's price was US$201.05 per metric ton on average, decreased 39% YoY or 14% MoM.
