Province saw its consumer price index (CPI) increase 1.8% YoY in October this year, according to the latest statistics released by the Nanjing Statistics Bureau.
Last month the province’s food prices went up 1.3% YoY, driven by a 4.6% increase in fresh fruit price, while the price of meat, poultry and processed products and fresh vegetables dropped 6.5% and 7.7% YoY, respectively.
The prices of cigarettes, alcohol and related products climbed 1.1% YoY, while the prices of household appliances and maintenance services rose 2.6% from a year earlier.
The price of personal and health care products increased 1.3% YoY in October, and the price of clothing grew 4.8% YoY.
According to the statistics, the province's housing prices rose 3.8% YoY last month, while the price of transportation and telecommunications decreased 0.4% YoY.
