COMAC secures 50 C919-aircraft orders

Nov. 14, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Commercial Aircraft Corp of China Ltd, or COMAC, a leading aircraft manufacturer in the country, has said it acquired 50 C919 aircraft orders from three companies at the 9th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition held in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.

Hebei Airlines Co Ltd ordered 20 C919 aircrafts at the air show, while another Chinese air carrier Joy Air Co Ltd order 20 C919 aircrafts as well.

Meanwhile, GE Capital Aviation Services, a subsidiary of U.S. power and technology giant General Electric Co, ordered 10 C919 aircrafts.

As of to date, a total of 15 companies have ordered the C919 aircraft and C919’s orders amounted to 380 units.

The C919 passenger airliner is expected to launch its maiden flight in 2014, and will be delivered in 2016.
