>, China's largest port operator, has announced its cargo throughput reached 41.68 million metric tons in October this year, reflecting a YoY increase of 2.58%.
The figure was less than 44.42 million metric tons it realized in September 2012.
Last month the company's container throughput was 2.72 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), 1.38% more than in the same month of last year.
The port operator earlier announced its cargo and container throughput for the first nine months of this year reach 377 million metric tons and 24.22 million TEUs, up 4.25% and 1.89% from a year earlier, respectively. Meanwhile its net profit for the nine-month period decreased 4% YoY to RMB 3.52 billion.
