China's auto sales up 5.32% in Oct

Nov. 12, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China, the world's largest auto market, saw its auto sales increase 5.32% YoY to 1.61 million units last month, according to the latest statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

According to the statistic, the sales of passenger vehicles hit 1.3 million units last month, increased 6.4% from a year earlier. However, the sales of commercial vehicles rose 0.99% YoY to 307,100 units.

From January to October 2012, China's auto sales amounted to 15.7 million units, which consists of 12.57 million units of passenger vehicles and 3.13 million units of commercial vehicles, up 6.9% and down 7.97% respectively from a year earlier.

During the ten-month period, the country produced a total of 15.72 million vehicles including 12.65 million units of passenger vehicles, 7.67% more than it realized in the corresponding period of 2011.
