>, or Chalco, the nation's largest aluminum producer as well as the world's third-largest alumina producer, has said it suffered a net loss of RMB 1.08 billion in the third quarter of this year, compared with a net profit of RMB 554.99 million it earned in the same period of 2011.
According to a statement filed with Shanghai Stock Exchange
, basic loss per share for the period was RMB 0.08.
From July to September, the aluminum producer saw its operation revenue reach RMB 37.13 billion, dropped 10.83% YoY.
In the first nine months of this year, the Shanghai
and Hong Kong listed
company's operation revenue totalled RMB 108.83 billion, more than RMB 107.61 billion it realized in the first nine month of 2011.
Net loss for the nine-month period totalled RMB 4.34 billion, compared with a net profit of RMB 967.57 million it realized a year earlier.
