Air China sees 16.5% down in Q3 profit

Nov. 1, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Air China Ltd<601111><0753>, the largest carrier in the country by market value, has said its net profit attributable to shareholders decreased 16.46% YoY to RMB 3.17 billion in the third quarter of this year.

According to a statement filed with Hong Kong Stock Exchange, basic earnings per share for the period were RMB 0.26.

From July to September 2012, the air carrier saw its operation revenue hit RMB 28.75 billion, edge up 2.1% than in the same period of last year.

In the first nine months of this year, the Shanghai and Hong Kong listed company's operation revenue totalled RMB 76.31 billion, 4.14% more than in the corresponding period of 2011.

Meanwhile its net profit for the nine-month period plunged 46.13% YoY to RMB 4.24 billion.
