>, the nation's largest fixed-line operator, has announced yesterday that its net profit fell 8% YoY to RMB 12.56 billion in the first nine months of this year.
According to a statement filed with Hong Kong Stock Exchange
, the company's operating revenue rose 15.1% YoY to RMB 209.98 billion in the first nine months.
In the first nine-month of this year, the company's average revenue per user (ARPU), a key barometer to determine the long-term growth rate of telecom firms, hit RMB 52.7.
From January to September, China Telecom added 26.15 million users, taking the number of its subscribers to 153 million at the end of September.
Meanwhile, the net addition of 3G users was 23.43 million in the period, bringing the firm's total 3G users to more than 59.72 million at the end of last month.
