Semiconductor Manufacturing Co or TSMC, the world's largest contract chip maker by revenue, has posted a net profit of NT$49.3 billion for the third quarter of this year, reflecting a YoY increase of 62%.
The profit for the third quarter of this year was more than an average forecast of NT$46.02 billion made by 8 analysts at The Wall Street Journal.
From July to September, the Taiwan based
contract chip maker saw its consolidated revenue hit NT$141.38 billion for the third quarter, up 32.78% from a year earlier.
The company said that its shipment of 28nm chips for Q3 this year rose over 100% than in Q2 2012.
