Oct. 25, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its coal imports plunge 21.8% YoY to 14.85 million metric tons in September this year, according to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs
Last month, China's coal exports reached 525,891 metric tons. The country's net coal imports were 14.20 million metric tons in September.
In the first nine months of this year, the country's coal imports amounted to 165.2 million metric tons, 34% more than in the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, the country's import of natural gas grew 36% YoY to 1.36 million metric tons last month, leading its total import of natural gas to 11.20 million metric tons in the first nine months of this year, up 52.8% YoY.
