China's insurance premium income up 7.3% in Jan-Sep

Oct. 25, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China's insurance industry reaped RMB 1.21 trillion in insurance premiums in the first nine months of this year, 7.3% more than that in the same period of last year, according to the latest statistics released by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.

The country's premium income from personal insurance business was RMB 808.42 billion during the nine-month period, including RMB 710.93 billion from life insurance.  

From January to September, the nation's property insurance premium income amounted to RMB 399.18 billion, said the commission.

The balance of insurance funds in bank deposits had increased RMB 128 billion from a month earlier to RMB 2.2 trillion at the end of September, while that of insurance fund under investments had grown by RMB 126.6 billion from a month earlier to RMB 4.18 trillion.
