>, the country's largest mobile telecom operator, has announced yesterday that its net profit rose 1.4% YoY to RMB 93.3 billion in the first nine months of this year.
According to a statement filed with Hong Kong Stock Exchange
, the mobile carrier's EBITDA fell 0.04% to RMB 187.37 billion in the nine-month period.
Operating revenue reached RMB 408.59 billion in the first nine months, 6.4% more than in the same period of last year.
In the first nine-month of this year, the company's average revenue per user (ARPU), a key barometer to determine the long-term growth rate of telecom firms, dropped to RMB 67 per month from RMB 70 in the same period of 2011.
From January to September, China Mobile added 48.94 million users, taking the number of its subscribers to 698.51 million at the end of September. The net addition of 3G users was 24.38 million in the period, bringing the firm's total 3G users to more than 75.6 million at the end of last month.
