HK Int'l Airport's passenger throughput up 1.3% in Sep

Oct. 22, 2012 (China Knowledge) - Hong Kong International Airport saw its passenger throughput exceed 5 million in Jul this year, reflecting a YoY increase of 1.3%, according to a statement of the Airport Authority Hong Kong.

In September, the airport's aircraft movements rose 4.1% YoY to 28,850. Meanwhile, its cargo and mail throughput increased 6.8% YoY to 347,000 metric tons last month.

In the first nine months of this year, Hong Kong International Airport saw its passenger volume increase 5.1% YoY to 42.2 million, while its aircraft movements rose 5.3% from a year earlier to 261,110.

The airport handled 2.9 million metric tons of cargo during the nine-month period, 0.9% more than it realized in the same period of last year.
