Province saw its consumer price index (CPI) increase 1.9% YoY or down 0.4% MoM in September this year, according to the latest statistics released by the Jiangsu Statistics Bureau.
Last month the food prices went up 1.3% from a year earlier but down 0.7% than in August 2012.
The prices of cigarettes, alcohol and related products climbed 2.4% YoY but declined 0.1% MoM, while the prices of household appliances and maintenance services rose 2.7% YoY and remained flat from a month earlier.
The price of personal and health care products increased 0.7% YoY or 0.3% MoM in September, and the price of clothing grew 5% YoY and 1.5% MoM.
According to the statistics, the city's housing prices rose 4.3% YoY or 0.1% MoM last month. The price of transportation and telecommunications decreased 0.6% YoY but increased 0.4% MoM.
In the first nine months of this year, the province's CPI rose 2.7% YoY. The CPI in both urban and rural areas rose 2.7% YoY during the nine-month period, respectively.
