>, the country's largest coal producer, said yesterday that it produced 24.3 million metric tons of commercial coal in September, reflecting a YoY increase of 7%.
Last month, the coal company sold 36.7 million tons of coal, 12.6% more than that in the same period of 2011. Of the total sales, 200,000 tons were exported, down 33.3% compared to September 2011.
Meanwhile, China Shenhua Energy said its electricity output decreased 5.3% YoY to 15.48 terawatt hours (TWh) in September, and its electricity sales dropped 5.4% YoY to 14.43 TWhs.
In the first nine months, the company's coal output rose 10% YoY to 230 million metric tons, while its coal sales for the nine-month period grew 15.1% YoY to 330 million metric tons.
From January to September, the Shanghai

company saw its electricity output amount to 155.63 TWhs, up 10.2% from a year earlier, and its electricity sales rose 9.9% YoY to 144.8 TWhs.
