Sep. 24, 2012 (China Knowledge) - China saw its coal imports grow 4.9% YoY to 17.28 million metric tons in August this year, according to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs
Last month, China's coal exports reached 645,430 metric tons. The country's net coal imports were 16.64 million metric tons in August.
In the first eight months of this year, the country's coal imports amounted to 150.3 million metric tons, 44.3% more than in the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, the country's import of natural gas grew 53.9% YoY to 1.28 million metric tons last month, leading its total import of natural gas to 9.8 million metric tons in the first eight months of this year, up 54.9% YoY.
