The telecom operator added 2.51 million mobile subscribers last month, compared to a net addition of 2.73 million mobile subscribers in July.
At the end of August 2012, Hong Kong-listed
China Telecom had 149.42 million mobile subscribers, including 56.44 million 3G users.
The company added 0.9 million broadband users last month, compared with a net addition of 1.16 million in July, which brought the firm's total broadband user volume to 85.76 million at the end of August 2012.
Meanwhile, the volume of the firm's fixed-line users declined 550,000 to 166.47 million as of August 31, 2012.
