, the world's largest coal producer and consumer, saw its coal output reached 307 million metric tons in August this year, down 2.5% from a year earlier, according to figures from the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing.
In the first eight months of this year, the country saw its coal output increased 4.4% YoY to 2.57 billion metric tons.
Last month, China's coal sales decreased 6.2% YoY to 289 million metric tons, leading its total coal sales to 2.47 billion metric tons in the first eight months, reflecting a YoY increase of 4%.
From January to August, the fixed assets investment in China's coal mining and processing industry rose 18.5% YoY to RMB 319.5 billion.
