's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 3.2% during the period from June to August, unchanged from the three-month period from May to July, according to the latest workforce statistics released by the special administrative region's Census and Statistic Department.
The unemployment rate rose 0.2 percentage points to 1.7% during the period from June to August.
Total employment decreased by around 4,400 to 3.67 million during the period from June to August. The number of unemployment rose by around 3,100 to 131,600 over the same period.
In the same period, the labor force decreased by around 1,200 to 3.8 million.
Matthew Cheung, secretary for Labor and Welfare Bureau, said that the labor market remain stable during the summer period, the employment situation will depend on the overall economic performance especially the pace of enterprises creating new jobs.
